Woodlands Hotel Wedding
Jenny and Mark were one of the first couples to book us for this year after seeing us at the Oulton Hall Wedding Fair back in 2011. Booking so far in advance were once the norm, but more recently people have been booking at fairly short notice. Last month we took two bookings for May with just three weeks notice! May was also an anniversary for Magic Moments, as we filmed our first wedding on 1 May 1993. It's so hard to believe that Anne-Marie and Andrew Shaw will have just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary! Anyway, Jenny and Mark were married at St. Peter's at Morley, before travelling the short distance to the Woodlands Hotel for their reception. As soon as we started to take the guy shots at the church it started to rain, and as soon as we finished the sun came out - typical. The sun was still out when we arrived at the Wooodlands and stayed out for the rest of the day. We have been to the Woodlands many times over the years but it is now under new ownership and there have been many improvements for the better since it changed hands.

Wedding Photography at the Thorpe Park Hotel, Leeds
The Magic Moments team split up yesterday, with Richard and Alex going north to Leeds to photograph a wedding at Thorpe Park, while Yvonne set off to Huddersfield to video a wedding at The Old Golf House. The weather forecast was for rain all day, so Alex and I filled the car with studio lights for indoor photos and umbrellas for any outdoor photos. In the end we needed neither of them, as it only rained when Jo and Andrew were having their meal. We had already taken the group shots before the meal and then managed to get outside again after the meal for some rather special couple shots. As usual Alex worked his magic on the ring photograph. To-day we have a wedding video at Woodkirk Church, tomorrow it's photography and video at Oakwell Hall, followed by a wedding on Monday in Wakefield.

Roundhay Park and Leeds Irish Centre

Finally found a minute to start to update the blog! This year has been the busiest ever and every day had been spent either photographing weddings, filming weddings, editing weddings or designing wedding albums. Anyway, to begin to catch up we have to go back to 28 August when Catherine and Ronan had our biggest wedding of the year in Leeds. Despite the forecast being for rain, we managed to get all of the group photos taken at the church, before taking Catherine and Ronan to Roundhay Park for some photos on their own. Fortunately the rain held off until we were just about finished, before setting off to the reception at the Leeds Irish Centre. In the evening we were treated to some Irish dancing by the wedding party, which was quite something!
